Unirea Urziceni v Rangers
Time Commentary
93' UNIREA 1 RANGERS 1
After a grandstand finish, the final score here in Ukraine is 1-1. Rangers struggled in the first half and although they improved after the break, Lee McCulloch's goal in the 79th minute came as something of a surprise. However, the Gers couldn't hold on, as Onofras beat McGregor with a practically unsaveable shot just two minutes from time. Rangers can technically still qualify, but it seems unlikely that they will.
93' IT'S ALL OVER
It's 1-1 at full time, after a dramatic finish.
89' PAPAC FLUFFS IT!
Papac is unmarked as he meets a Rangers corner at the back post yards from goal, and he puts his finish wide! What a howler, he had to hit the target from there.
87' GOOOOOOAL!
Onofras receives the ball after a crisp passing move from Unirea, and he sends his shot from outside the box in the top-left corner. Real drama here in Bucharest!
86' OVERAMBITIOUS
Bordeanu puts an end to a promising Unirea attack by ballooning the ball over the bar from way out.
84' ANOTHER RANGERS CHANCE
John Fleck comes on in place of Kevin Thompson.
82' SUBSTITUTIONS
Unirea's Razvan Paduretu comes on for Ricardo Gomes while Dacian Varga replaces Antonio Semedo. Walter Smith brings on Nacho Novo in place of Kenny Miller.
79' CLEARED OFF THE LINE
Unirea burst forward and Wilson clears a shot from Bilasco off the line. What a night he's had!
78' GOOOOOOAL!
Lee McCulloch beats the keeper with a dipping shot from a fair way outside the box, which Alauskis probably should have dealt with to be honest.
76' KEEPER ALERT AGAIN
McGregor throws his hands directly above his head to keep out a piledriver from Bilasco, and stings his palms in the process.
74' SUPER STOP
Bordeanu gets on the end of a long ball into the box and his powerful shot is kept out with a brilliant reflex save from Alan McGregor.
72' WELL DONE WILSON
The youngest ever Rangers player to feature in the Champions League has done a good job tonight. He's been calm and composed and looks like a potential Ibrox hero.
69' MCGREGOR SAVES
Onofras sends a glancing header goalwards, and McGregor throws himself to his right to make the catch.
68' YELLOW CARD
Bilasco throws himself to the ground and is quite rightly booked for diving.
65' SWING AND A MISS
Whittaker crosses to Lafferty who nods the ball down to McCulloch. He swings his right boot at the ball and misses completely!
62' GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY
Miller exchanges a one-two with Davis before finding himself just yards out with only the keeper to beat. However, Arlauskis gets down low to keep out Miller's side-footed shot.
59' WILSON DOES WELL
Whittaker gives the ball away in a dangerous position and Brandan puts the ball in the box with two Unirea players waiting, forcing Wilson lunge in and clear.
56' JUST TOO HIGH
Papac swings in a cross from the right which is only just too high for Naismith on the far post. That's the best we've seen of Rangers so far this half.
53' EASY SAVE
Frunza has a crack from distance, and the ball bounces in front of McGregor before he gathers it comfortably.
52' GERS ON THE BACK FOOT
Unirea have come out of the blocks fastest after the break, having the lions share of possession and showing the most attacking intent.
49' WIDE OF THE MARK
Defender Bordeanu sends a first time shot curling wide of the goal, but McGregor would have had it covered anyway.
46' FIRST CHANCE OF THE HALF
Frunza charges forward and drags a shot wide of goal. I've been impressed with him so far, Rangers have had trouble dealing with him.
45' WE'RE OFF
Rangers get the second half underway. There were some nasty clashes between Rangers fans and stewards in the interval, seems to of all calmed down now though.
45' UNIREA 0 RANGERS 0
It's goalless here in Ukraine. It's been a tough 45 minutes for Rangers, and they have Alan McGregor to thank that they're still in the game. Lafferty's had a couple of decent chances up the other end, but Miller really hasn't had the service he would have liked. If Rangers are to win this game, which let's face it, they pretty much have to, they're going to have to turn it up a notch.
45' HALF TIME
It's 0-0 at the break.
43' DECENT EFFORT
A deft flick from Miller after good build up play is latched on to by Laffery, whose dipping shot drops just wide of Arlauskis' left-hand post.
39' OVER THE BAR
Bilasco isn't closed down and tries his luck from distance, only to see his shot sail well over the bar.
37' CHEEKY!
Onofras, who came on for Balan a while ago, tries to cheekily catch McGregor off his line from way out and gives him a big scare, as the ball only just clears the bar.
34' BAD MISS
Varga drags a shot wide from near the penalty spot. Weir should have been onto him quicker.
32' WHAT A SAVE
Varga pulls the ball back for Frunza, who unleashes a powerful shot from inside the box. McGregor flies to his left with an outstretched arm to tip the ball behind for a corner.
29' UP THE OTHER END
Miller weaves through the Unirea defence, but his scuffed finish is saved easily. Naismith was screaming for the ball just yards from goal.
28' GREAT SAVE
McGregor does excellently to keep out a thunderbolt of a free kick from Maftei.
27' FIRST BOOKING
Varga makes a dangerous run through the middle of the Rangers half and Laffery hacks him down. Can't have any complaints about that.
26' HEADER SAVED
Thompson swings in a ball from the right and Naismith's header draws a decent save from Arlauskis.
22' BEST CHANCE YET
Varga's cross finds the head of Bilasco, who heads into the ground and wide from just yards out. Should have done better.
21' RANGERS BREAK
Rangers surge forward and Laffery jinks in from the left before delivering a cross-field ball to Whittaker. Rather than cross back to Lafferty on the back post, he darts into the box, but fouls a defender in the process and the chance is gone.
18' ON HIS HEAD
Whittaker crosses for Naismith, who rises a touch early and doesn't get the power on his header he would like. Arlauskis saves relatively comfortably.
15' WORTH A GO
Weir heads a long ball up in the air, and Varga tries an acrobatic volley from the edge of the box. It looked spectacular, shame the ball flew way wide of goal.
12' THOMPSON DENIED
Kevin Thompson does well to curl a free kick round Unirea's wall, and is only denied by a rather peculiar save from Arlauskis. The Lithuanian chose to dive and chest the ball away, rather than simply catching it.
9' UNIREA ATTACK
In the last few minutes, Balan scuffed a shot in a good position, and Rangers have had to deal with dangerous crosses from Apostol and Frunza.
6' CAUGHT ON THE BREAK
Rangers have made a steady start, but they've been caught on the break on the two occasions they've really ventured forward.
3' AGE GAP
17-year-old Danny Wilson makes his Champions League debut alongside 39-year-old David Weir in the heart of the Rangers defence. What a night for the young lad!
0' AWAY WE GO
Unirea kick the game off. It's a cracking atmosphere in Bucharest.

0' PREVIEW
Greetings from Ukraine, where Unirea Urziceni, the only football team I can think of that begins with the letter ‘U', host Glasgow Rangers this evening. Rangers performance against this side at Ibrox two weeks was perhaps the worst and most embarrassing that Gers fans have seen in recent times, and left the club rooted to the bottom of group G. Rangers need at least a point from this game if they want to have any chance of progressing from the group stages, and a victory would give everyone a much needed lift considering the off-field problems we've been hearing about this week.
